After buying a new iphone4, I was looking for a protector to help with scratches. After reading the reviews, I went with the Zagg, what a mistake! Applying the protector is a nightmare. If you use a case for your iphone, don't waste the money. After finally getting the protector on, I waited two weeks
before inserting in the case. After the first try, the corners peel up. The first statement on the installation instructions should be, If you use a case, do not apply this protector. Zagg's customer service said the same thing. Unless you enjoy wasting money, do not buy this product.

I just bought my iphone 4 last week and wanted to get a case and a screen protector. I initially bought a screen protector from the AT&T store. I have a case that covers the back and the sides and the first screen protector I bought fell off in a day. I then decided to order the Zagg Invisible shield. It's pretty easy to put on and doesn't interact with my case at all. The only complaint is this protector is not as smooth (for lack of a better work) than the initial protector or the screen without anything on it. All in all, it's a great screen protector that stays on.

As a long-time electronic gadget geek, I've always been fanatical about using screen protection on every item I've owned. There's nothing quite so heart-rending as seeing a scratch in the screen of your PDA - not mine, but I've seen it on those of my friends. Most of the screen protectors have been along the lines of hard plastic sheets that sometimes got in the way of enjoying the feel of the PDA.

But not the ZAGG inivisibleSHIELD. This is the best protector I've used yet, hands down. I liked the one on my iPhone 4 so much that I had one installed on my iPad before I ever fired it up. Why is it so good? Great tactile feel (like an orange's peel), totally clear, and incredibly durable. One of the people in the Apple Store I visited told me that he's seen a number of people's iPhones saved by having such a protector, because the protector took the hit from the drop and left the iPhone undamaged. And, if you do manage to damage the ZAGG, they'll replace it for free! Mind you, you're going to have to work to damage the shield. Once it's on there, you have to want to get it off - you *can* get it off, but it won't peel up on you or come off accidentally. These are The Best in screen protection, folks - you want your iPhone/iPad screen safe from damage? Get one of these! :-)

Here's the trick to enjoying the ZAGG: Don't install it yourself! Do what I did, listen to some of the wise reviewers on this site, and buy your ZAGG here on Amazon (where it's a good deal), then take it to Best Buy and have them install it for you! It'll cost you $8 for an iPhone installation ($15 for an iPad), about 15 minutes of waiting (if nobody is ahead of you), and you walk out with it professionally installed and ZERO headache. If they mess it up (haven't done so yet), they'll pull another one off their own shelf & install it again.

Before you take your device to Best Buy, make sure to do this: Cover all the openings (microphone, speaker(s), dock port, mute switch & headphones) with a few strips of cellophane tape. The reasoning here is simple. They use a spray that's included with the ZAGG to apply the inivisibleSHIELD and very often the spray accidentally winds up in the holes. In fact, there was an item on the Apple Support Forum about this, where people got an error about headphones being plugged in and muting the sound when they weren't. In over 75% of the cases, the person had just installed a ZAGG and had accidentally sprayed the liquid into one of the holes, which made the device think that something was plugged in when it wasn't. The fix was to wait until the solution dried up, plug & unplug the hole a few times, and the error went away. So, yes, it's fixable, but why bother? Add the tape and there will be no problem at all. It takes about 2 minutes to put the tape on and about 10 seconds to remove it once Best Buy installs the shield; well worth it to prevent an annoying, temporary problem.
